Although the hope that 1960 would become a great vintage was ruined by the disastrous weather conditions, a few estates stood out and produced very good wines. After very hot and very dry June and July, the vines were not spared from the torrential rains that fell on the French vineyards during the months of August and September.

Some estates stand out from the rest. Great success for some estates, such as Montrose, Chateau Latour and Mission Haut-Brion. Cazes and Chateau Yquem are great successes in Rivesaltes.
