The Domaine Alain Jeanniard is a wine estate in Burgundy. It can be found between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-St-Denis. The estate extends over more than 100 hectares of vines. It is composed of premiers crus and grands crus. The Jeanniard family has been in Burgundy since 1755 but it was not until 1999 that Alain Jeanniard left his job to take over the family's half hectare of land with the intention of building his own estate in Morey St Denis. Today, he has a total of 4 hectares spread from Fixin to Pommard and the Hautes-Côtes. Herbicides are never used and the soils are regularly ploughed. Minimum use of sulphur. Aging is in oak, 20% new. About 1800 cases (or less depending on the vintage) produced per year. Interestingly, from 2000 to 2006, Jeanniard was in charge of viticulture for the Hospices de Beaune for their Mazis and Clos de la Roche.
