Order wine : Cornas 2021 Chapelle Saint Pierre - Alain Voge
95/100 Wine Spectator
‘On the nose notes of smoky bacon and black pepper permeate a base of supple plum and baked black cherry flavours in this smoky red, which shows good freshness. Full-bodied without being massive, this wine is round and unctuous, with a subtle chewiness that adds to the complexity of the texture. It's drinking beautifully now, but still has a long life ahead of it in the cellar. Drink now through 2035. ’
The vintage : The first vintage was in 2016. The terroir is located on the heights of Cornas. A wine with a lot of freshness and with a remarkable fruity side. One will find a tannic structure which remains well in mouth but without hanging. A very nice potential of guard.
To know about this exceptional vintage: It is around the Chapel "Saint-Pierre-aux-liens" that Alain Voge planted in 1999 Syrah of great quality on the heights of Cornas. Perched at an altitude of 400 meters on granitic soils, the Domaine Alain Voge harvests at perfect maturity and launches the fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in barrels for 20 months.
Only 2500 bottles are produced and only in the great vintages.
