Saint-Emilion - Second wine of Château Angélus
75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, aged 16 months in 50% French oak barrels. Medium to deep purple to garnet in color, it emerges confidently from the glass with aromas of pure, polished black cherries, fresh blackberries, and black raspberries with hints of non-smoked cigars, hoisin, black truffles, and wet rocks, as well as a band of pencil shavings. From full-bodied to full-bodied, elegance and sophistication are not lacking. The lively red and black fruit flavors are perfectly structured, with supple, fine tannins and harmonious freshness ending on a lingering earthy note.
