Tasting by Luis Gutiérrez in 2021: "Despite sometimes difficult weather conditions, the winemakers were happy with the quality of the 2017 Macán, being very attentive to fermentation and separating the press wine by quality. The 4,000-liter oak tuns helped polish the tannins, and they used 50% new barrels. The aging process lasted 16 months. It's a bit riper than the 2018 Clásico I tasted alongside, with a bit more alcohol (14.5%) and mellow acidity. The fruit is a bit ripe. It has abundant tannins."
