AOC Bonnes mares - Great Wine of Burgundy

Les Bonnes Mares straddles two communes: 13.54 ha on the Chambolle-Musigny side and 1.52 ha on the Morey-Saint-Denis side. The Bonnes Mares are a terroir that is difficult to grasp, moreover, declined by a multiplicity of producers. The wine does not look like a Chambolle: it draws more from the Morey side with its wild notes and aromas of stewed fruit contrasting with the pure fruitiness of the Amoureuses and Musigny. A path crosses the Climat diagonally. It starts at the bottom, in the south, and ends at the top on the Morey side in the north. Schematically speaking, the lower part offers red lands, and the upper part offers white lands. The Domaine Roumier which operates one plot on each terroir, used until recently to vinify the two separately, and only blended them after a year of ageing in pièces.
