Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2014 - Chanson
Chanson Père et fils
95/100 Wine Spectator
Cellaring : Drink from 2022 to 2040
James Suckling's 2017 tasting note: "A perfumed style, showing sandalwood, rose, olive and sweet berry aromas and flavours. Elegant and complex, with beautiful harmony, though it needs a few years to develop. It shows finesse and a great aftertaste."
Grape variety: Pinot Noir
Soil: Clay and limestone
Location: The "Charmes Chambertin" climat is located in the southern part of Gevrey Chambertin, halfway up the hillside, facing east, close to the famous "Chambertin" parcel
Tasting notes: Deep ruby colour. Intense aromas of ripe black cherry and plum mixed with spices and vanilla. Dense and deep. Elegant structure with tight texture. Good tension and depth. Well-integrated tannins. Good persistence.
Food pairing : Grilled meat or meat in sauce and all kinds of cheese (especially regional cheeses - Epoisses, Langres, Citeaux).
