Hermitage White Nobles Rives 2017 - Cave de Tain
Geographical location: Northern Côtes du Rhône, left bank of the Rhône
Grape variety: Marsanne (95%) and Roussanne (5%)
Terroir : Granitic soils and fluvio-glacial alluvial deposits, in terraces.
Climate : Continental with Mediterranean influence
Vinification : Manual harvest. Gentle pressing of the grapes on arrival at the winery. Selection of the juices in order to express the best of the grapes and protection against oxidation as soon as the first juices run off. Cold settling, then partial casking during the alcoholic fermentation to preserve freshness while favouring a rich aromatic expression.
Ageing: 30% of the volume is aged in new barrels, the rest in barrels of 1, 2 and 3 wines, on fine lees for about 8 months with regular stirring of the lees.

Tasting notes: Colour: Pale yellow with light green highlights. Aromas of acacia, lime blossom and lemon peel. In the mouth: fresh and saline attack with notes of grapefruit and lemon. The ageing in wood brings notes of vanilla and grilled hazelnuts.
Food and wine pairing: A wine with great ageing potential, to be aged to reach its peak or served young with foie gras, poultry with truffles, lobster or fish in a spicy sauce.
