Chablis Premier Cru Forêt 2012 - Raveneau
Domaine Raveneau
It's one of Montmains' sure values. Its soil contains clays of all colours. It heats up slowly, but retains heat well afterwards. They are complex wines because of the variety of the clay and the abundance of pebbles which allow good drainage. A beautiful richness and a discreet nose of liquorice.
"The 2012 Chablis 1er Cru Forets has a very Chablis-like nose that is less exotic than the 2013, stricter and more mineral driven, slightly fume. The palate is precise with a suggestion of almond on the entry. It is very well-balanced with perfect acidity, leading to a gentle finish of almond and walnut that lingers in the mouth. This has fine potential."
