Description: Chambertin is located in the heart of the constellation of the Côte de Nuits Grands Crus. The Chambertin terroir is mythical for its exceptional richness due to a geological phenomenon called "cone of dejection". This terroir of great complexity is marked by brown limestone soils. It offers a powerful, complex wine, with great ageing potential, combining the robustness of Pinot Noir and the taste of the terroir. At the end of the 19th century, the Latour family acquired 0.81 hectares in the Chambertin Grand Cru appellation, constituting a superb plot of land in one piece, from top to bottom of the hillside, closer to the Latricières than to the Clos de Bèze. Our Chambertin took the name of "Cuvée Héritiers Latour", and the parcel was then passed on to the descendants of the Latour family.
Fermentation : Traditional in open vats, 100% malolactic.
Ageing: 10 to 10 to 12 months in oak barrels, 100% new
Barrels: Tonnellerie Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast
Tasting Note: Our Chambertin Grand Cru 2018 has a dark ruby color with aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry and mocha. An ample mouth with silky tannins, it offers a beautiful freshness and notes of liquorice and cherry.
Food and wine pairing : Deer stew - doe sautéed with pepper and celery puree - Soumaintrain
