Tasting by William Kelley in 2021: "Laurent-Perrier's NV Brut Grand Siècle #25 looks magnificent. It has an emerging, complex bouquet of pear, crisp fruit and tangerine intermixed with notes of smoke, buttered toast and dried white flowers. Textured, with a fleshy core of fruit, terrific concentration and racy acidity. This is a deep, relatively structured wine that will evolve beautifully in the cellar. As I have written before, this iteration is a blend of the 2008, 2007 and 2006 vintages, with the 2008 giving No. 25 its depth and structure, the 2007 providing an extra touch and the 2006 an extra richness. While No. 25 exemplifies the seamless charm of this bottling, it is also one of the best long-term cellaring propositions among recent Grand Siècle releases, and will truly be rewarded by time on the cork."

The blending of Grand Siècle is based on 3 principles that are now immutable. Blending of a selection of 3 exceptional years chosen for their complementarity. Blending of a majority of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir selected from 11 of the only 17 Grands Crus in Champagne. The blend benefits from an extended cellar ageing period of more than 10 years.
