‘Wildly Provençal, the 1998 Châteauneuf du Pape Croix de Bois sang on this occasion and showed tons of kirsch, garrigue, seaweed and gamey notes, all giving way to a full-bodied, plump, fruit-filled Châteauneuf du Pape that drinks to perfection. There's no advantage here, but it should evolve nicely in the future thanks to its formidable fruit core.’ Jeb Dunnuck
