Order wine : Château l'Église Clinet 2005
Pomerol
99/100 Parker
When to drink this wine? 2020 - 2050
‘The 2005 Château l'Eglise-Clinet was served in bottle and magnum (both from the cellar). It has a magnificent nose with a bewitching delineation: blacker fruit than the 2003 or 2004, blackberry, raspberry, notes of black tea and black truffle. The palate is fairly full-bodied with brilliant concentration, still rather backward like so many of this vintage's greats, although it begins to soften towards the liquorice-tinged finish. It's a benchmark for Denis Durantou and this Pomerol estate, even if I can see it testing the patience of wine lovers. Tested in March 2015.’ Neil Martin
