Rare wine from AOC Pomerol
100/100 Parker
When to drink this wine : Can be drunk from now until 2060.
Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown in 2020: "Deep garnet-coloured, L'Eglise Clinet 2010 starts unpretentiously with sweet notes of fragrant dried flowers and wild sage leading to savoury nut and meat aromas over an expanding core of candied plums, blueberry compote and black cherry coulis and a whiff of menthol.Full-bodied, concentrated and wonderfully decadent, the palate is packed with rich, ripe, candied black fruit and lots of spicy sparkle, framed by very ripe, super sumptuous tannins and a very long, decadent finish. I love the interplay of subtlety and power here - it really is a WOW wine!
Do you know Château l'Eglise-Clinet?
Château l'Eglise-Clinet benefits from a remarkable terroir, characterised by sloping clay and gravel soils, which allow optimum drainage of the vines. These privileged geological conditions, combined with a very favourable climate, allow us to produce exceptional wines that rival or even surpass some of the greatest red wines of Bordeaux. The blend of grape varieties is also carefully chosen, with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, emblematic grape varieties of the Bordeaux region, in perfect harmony with the terroir and climate of this location.
