Find the best wines of Château Gigognan from the estate on Comptoir des Millésimes. Order your wines and receive them quickly, in the best conditions! Taste a great Châteauneuf du Pape from our partner estate.
Château Gigognan owns 30 hectares of vines in Châteauneuf du Pape. 29 hectares are continued for the production of red grapes. A huge plot of 1 hectare of vines is reserved for the planting of white wine grapes. The Callet family also owns 42 hectares of vines in the Côtes du Rhône appellation. In 2010, Château Gigonan was certified organic. Château Gigonan produces 3 red wines, Châteauneuf du Pape wines and a white Châteauneuf du Pape.
Château Gigognan can be enjoyed by young people. Young vintages can be blown and poured, or decanted for about 1 hour. This allows the wine to soften and open its perfume. Older vintages require very little decanting, just enough to remove sediment.
Château Gigognan is generally best after 2 to 4 years of bottle ageing. Of course, this can vary slightly depending on the vintage. In the best vintages, the wine should be consumed within 3 to 10 years depending on the vintage.
Château Gigognan is best served at 15.5 degrees Celsius, 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The cool temperature, almost that of the cellar, gives the wine more freshness and elevation.
Château Gigognan is ideal to accompany all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, stewed dishes, sausages, barbecue and cassoulet. It is also perfect for Asian dishes, hearty fish dishes such as tuna, pasta with mushrooms, eggplant, cheese and tomatoes.
The Château's white wine is ideal to accompany a myriad of seafood dishes, shellfish, crabs, lobster, sushi, sashimi, chicken, pork and veal, as well as Asian cuisine.
