Tasting by Yohan Castaing in 2024: ‘Compared with the 1999 vintage, the 1997 Crème de Tête is more concentrated, with an intensely botrytised profile. It offers a complex, intense bouquet of pineapple, saffron, ripe orchard fruit, caramel and sweet spices. It is rich and concentrated, with a textured attack and a layered, fresh, slightly minty mid-palate. Consumers lucky enough to have bottles of this vintage in their cellar should be patient before opening them, as this wine is destined for extraordinary longevity.’
