Tasted in January 2016: "After tasting Château La Conseillante 1989 on more than a dozen occasions, I quickly come to the conclusion that it is one of my favorite Pomerols of the vintage. Even if at its time, the Clinet 1989 could surpass La Conseillante, the fact is that the latter is the most consistent Pomerol. Here it has this captivating bouquet of melted black fruits, sage, undergrowth and notes of bacon fat, like a finger that moves and invites you in. The palate is suave and harmonious, a mixture of red and black fruits which seems to reveal the precocity of the vegetation, even if it is now 27 years old. It is a voluminous, ample Pomerol on the palate, but not extravagant, certainly flamboyant and without ever betraying its roots. It's just a wonderful La Conseillante, a purebred Pomerol that makes you smile." .
