Château the Petrus Flower 2005
Pomerol
96/100 Wine Spectator
Cellaring: Drink now or cellar until 2035
Tasted by James Molesworth in 2016: "A very solid wine, with a strong backbone of ganache, charcoal and toasted alder that remains the dominant characteristic for now, though there is ample reserve of blackcurrant, plum and raspberry fruit. It offers a muscular but racy finish, thanks to a nice graphite note that runs through it. While it's unlikely to surpass them, it will nonetheless give the 09 and 10.-Non-blind La Fleur-Pétrus vertical (December 2015) a run for its money." - JM
