- Tasted by Neal Martin in 2016: "The 2001 Chateau Margaux continues to evolve impressively. The nose is sensual, veering towards red rather than black fruits, with disarming purity and perhaps more floral/purple character than the 1999. Both show extraordinary precision and delineation. The palate is edgy and taut with bright acidity, so fresh and vital on the palate."
