Château Mont Redon White 2019 - Châteauneuf du Pape
- Presentation of the cuvée : The appellation area is located on the left bank of the Rhône, between Orange and Avignon. The terroir is characterised by large rounded pebbles that store the heat of the generous Provencal sun during the day and release it at night. The height of the pebbles is 2 metres; underneath, there is a clay below, there is a clay bank where the roots of the vines draw their water needs: an exceptional terroir. We have planted our white grape varieties on the most chalky parts of our estate in order to obtain the most aromatic, elegant and fine wines.
- Tasting: To be enjoyed young, within 2 years of the harvest, if you are looking for fruitiness, elegance and charm. Lovers of older white wines should drink them after 5 years to wait for the aromatic evolution and the appearance of secondary aromas: honeyed notes - acacia, truffles, liquorice.
- Grape variety :
- Grenache
- Clairette
- Bourboulenc
- Roussanne
- Picpoul
- Climate: Mediterranean type with particularly hot summers. The mistral wind
chases away the humidity, thus ensuring very favourable conditions for the
for the cultivation of vines.
- Harvesting: Manual, which allows for a selective sorting of the grapes. The winegrowers attach great importance to this point, which is of prime importance in terms of quality.
- Vinification and maturation : Direct pressing in pneumatic presses. Natural cold settling (10-12°) and light fining. Low temperature vinification constant temperature between 14° and 16°.
- Fermentation lasts about 4 weeks. In order to preserve the natural acidity and the freshness of the wine's aromas, malolactic fermentation is not carried out. Aged on the lees in vats for 4 to 5 months, then bottled early: April of the year following the harvest.
