Tasting by Lisa Perrotti-Brown: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Clementin de Pape Clement steps confidently out of the glass with classic perfumes of ripe cassis, juicy black plum and cedar chest, as well as hints of graphite, bay leaf, unsmoked cigar and espresso. The fairly full-bodied, elegant palate (13.5% alcohol) has plenty of grace and presence for a second wine, with finely grained tannins and seamless freshness to support the bright black fruit flavors, which finish on a mineral note."
