Château Pontet Canet 2016
Pauillac - Grand Cru Classé
98+/100 Parker
Cellaring: 2023 - 2060
Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown in 2020: "Deep garnet-purple in colour, the 2016 Pontet-Canet hits hard with a hedonistic nose of Black Forest cake, creme de cassis, and blueberry pie, as well as suggestions of candied violets, hoisin (barbecue) sauce, mint chocolate, charcuterie, and forest floor with a hint of star anise. Full-bodied, rich, deeply layered and powerfully fruity, the palate is built like a brick house, with very firm, super ripe and grainy tannins and harmonious freshness, finishing with incredible length and depth. Still incredibly primal and yet already endowed with so many layers, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this wine deserves a triple-digit score in a few years. "
