The famous Château Simone has its own appellation Palette and is located in Provence. It encompasses twenty hectares of vineyards situated on limestone soils at altitudes between 500 and 750 feet above sea level on the slopes of Montaiguet. The special microclimate of this appellation is influenced by the surrounding pine forests, the mass of the Sainte-Victoire mountain and the Arc river. The vineyards were rebuilt after the phylloxera invasion and many of the vines are over a hundred years old. The Rougiers retain the special winemaking methods developed and cherished over the decades.
The red wine of Simone is an elegant but well-constituted wine of great depth. It is mainly composed of Grenache and Mourvèdre, but its particular character reflects the presence of a mixture of other grape varieties, even in small proportions, including Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Castet, Manosquin, Théoulier, Tibouren, Picpoul Noir and Muscat de Hambourg. Bottled after 18 to 24 months of ageing in foudres and a year or more in old barrels, it is blended without filtration. The wine is a classic that deserves to be aged in order to best appreciate its many nuances: plum, pine resin, cinnamon, truffle and spice among other sensations. We invite you to share our pleasure.
