Tasting: "A creamy white, round but lively and lemony. It has notes of fresh lemons, grapefruit, dried herbs, fennel and sweet spices. It is quite full-bodied. Lots of volume on the ample, harmonious palate and balanced. There is so much texture in the mid-palate with a caressing touch at the edge. Round and aromatic with a fresh, lemony finish.
- The Domaine du Clos des Papes is a reference to Châteauneuf du Pape. They have some of their best Grenache vines planted on sandy soils to the west and south-east of the appellation. In the north-eastern part of the appellation, there are more vines planted on soils strewn with rocks, pebbles, clay and limestone.
- It is the blending of these different terroirs and grape varieties that gives birth to Clos des Papes.
- Most of these vines are devoted to red wines. Only 10% are reserved for the production of white wine. The white wine of the Clos des Papes made its debut in 1955. At the Clos des Papes, they practice biodynamic agriculture. In 2010, the property was certified "Agriculture Biologique".
