Châteauneuf-du-Pape 1976 - Chante Cigale
Old wine from Chateauneuf du pape
Châteauneuf-du-Pape Chante Cigale 1976 is a wine from one of the most prestigious appellations in the Rhône Valley. This cuvée, made from typical grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, has survived the decades to reveal the full potential of its vintage.
The hot, dry climate of 1976 allowed the grapes to ripen to perfection, producing a powerful, well-structured wine with a rich fruitiness. On the palate, it develops aromas of ripe red fruit and plum, with more evolved notes of leather, spices and undergrowth. Well-integrated acidity ensures perfect balance, while the tannins, once robust, have mellowed with age, leaving a silky texture.
