- 2018 VINTAGE: The 2018 Vintage is a Vintage that will remain exceptional in many ways in the memory of the winegrowers of the region. Indeed, after an important release of bunches of grapes, everything suggested that theMillésime would be generous. This was without counting on a Spring which proved to be extremely rainy with more than 300 mm over the months of April and May. Deprived of the Mistral, the atmosphere was humid and warm, ideal conditions for the development of Mildew. "Never before seen" for the elders. This period demanded a lot of energy, especially for our vineyard, which is organically cultivated. Fortunately, the summer proved to be hot and dry, offering a very good sanitary state, allowing us to harvest grapes of excellent quality. Marked by low yields (17 to 20 hl/ha), the wines are endowed with great elegance, silky tannins and remarkable balance. An attractive vintage, in small quantities!
- CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SOILS : Sandy soils, composed of pebbles rolled on the surface, in the area known as "Les Cassanets".
- ASSEMBLY: 70% Grenache - 30% Syrah.
- VINIFICATION : Manual harvest with sorting in the vineyard and then in the cellar.
- 100% de-stemming, then fermentation in wooden truncated cone vats with indigenous yeasts.
- AGEING : Grenache : 90% in demi-muids (600L) and 10% in amphora (terracotta). Syrah: aged in barrels. For 14 months.
- TASTING: This wine has a pretty Bismarck red color with Bordeaux tints. The nose is elegant and discreet. One finds aromas of orange marmalade and candied cherries associated with notes of sweet spices. The palate is smooth and suave with a beautiful aromatic persistence. All in elegance.
- AGREEMENTS : Rabbit of Garenne in gibelotte - Hare stew - Tournedos Rossini.
