- GEOGRAPHICAL SITUATION: stony plateau of Crau (south-east of the appellation. Intersection of the villages of Bédarrides, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Courthézon).
- AREA: 50 hectares.
- SOIL AND SUBSOLENCE: Miocene molasses (1 to 1.5 m deep) underlain by a thick layer of clay heavily laden with pebbles, and covered by a mantle of alpine diluvium, commonly known as "galets roulés".
- VARIETIES: Grenache noir 65%, Mourvèdre 15%, Syrah 15%, Cinsault, Clairette and other 5%.
- AGE OF VINES: 70 years on average.
- VINIFICATION: Hand-picked with double sorting in the vineyard, followed by a third sorting in the cellar, light crushing and selective de-stemming, traditional fermentation for 30 to 40 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel and wooden vats. Pressing in pneumatic presses, systematic malolactic fermentation.
- AGEING: 20/22 months in 60 hectolitre French oak tuns.
- Bottled without fining or filtration. Marketed after 2 years.
