Château Climens 2007
Sauternes (Barsac) - 1er Grand Cru Classé
Maturity: To be drunk or kept in the cellar for several decades.
98/100 Parker
‘Blind-tested against its peers. Château Climens always tends to retreat into its shell after bottling, which probably explains why I didn't give this still bewitching Barsac an even higher score. The 2007 has a lovely bouquet: very pure with honey, a touch of orange blossom and a hint of quince. The palate is very well balanced, with great purity and a hint of spice, as well as a lovely viscous, botrytis-laden finish that has impressive weight and persistence. It's a slice of heaven in a glass, but it certainly needs time to reveal its true potential.Tasted in January 2011.’ Neil Martin
