Vougeot 1er Cru Les Cras 2017 - Domaine de la Vougeraie
The vineyard of Vougeot is especially known for the very illustrious Clos de Vougeot. But it also has some remarkable climates on 16.5 hectares of AOC vines. A pocket handkerchief of silk and lace. Knowing these climates reveals the true lover of Burgundy wine.

Harvest
Date of harvest: September 5, 2017 (Flower Day). Relatively healthy harvest. Yield: 49 hl/ha
Vinification
24% whole harvest, not crushed and vatted by gravity. No yeasting or enzymes. Cold pre-fermentation maceration (12-15°C) for 5 days Total maceration: 19 days 1 punching down per day until mid-fermentation, then a light pumping over per day until the end of vatting. Pressing with the vertical press.
Ageing
Duration: 16 months in casks and 1 month in stainless steel tanks Type: in casks. Percentage of new barrels: 36% Soft and slow heating. Origin of the wood: Cîteaux forest. No fining, light filtration.
Bottled in bottles: December 5 and 6, 2018 (flower and leaf day) By gravity. Limited to 3,880 bottles, 120 magnums, 20 Jeroboams.
