Description : After the ravages of Phylloxera at the end of the 19th century, the Louis Latour family decided to pull up the dead vines of Aligoté and Pinot Noir and replace them with Chardonnay. Today, with 10.5 hectares, Louis Latour is the largest owner of this Grand Cru. Our Corton-Charlemagne vineyard is located in the best part of the Corton hillside, where the south-east exposure provides the vines with ideal sunshine and a perfect balance between acidity and maturity of the grapes.
Fermentation: Traditional in oak barrels, 100% malolactic.
Ageing: 8 to 10 months in oak barrels, 100% new
Barrels: Tonnellerie Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast
Tasting: Our Corton-Charlemagne 2017 has a magnificent pale yellow colour and reveals a complex nose of fresh almond, roasted hazelnut and smoky notes. The palate is powerful with notes of yellow fruit and vanilla. One notes a beautiful persistence on the palate.
Food and wine pairing : Large crustaceans - lobster - foie gras - fish - ripened cheeses
