La Landonne 2011 - Guigal
Cote-rotie - Guigal
99/100 Parker
Cellaring: 2025 - 2060
Tasted by Jeb Dunnuck on December 31, 2015 : "A step above the other two single vineyard versions, the 2011 Cote Rotie la Landonne is an incredible wine that hits a sweet spot in the vintage. Its inky/purple colour is followed by notes of black currants, black olives, truffles, graphite, and crushed rock that take your breath away. Full-bodied, massively concentrated, thick and unctuous, it has the flamboyant fruit profile of the vintage, but is supported by a full-bodied mid-palate, copious amounts of tannin, and a finish that doesn't quit. It's relatively approachable now because of its glycerin and fatness, but it needs a decade of cellaring and will take your breath away over the next two decades or more."
