Presentation of the Lafon Estate

The Domaine des Comtes Lafon is owned by Dominique Lafon, who succeeded his father René Lafon. The Domaine des Comtes Lafon comprises 16.4 hectares of vines, and produces many of the most famous wines in Burgundy. They are planted with Chardonnay for the whites (10.6 hectares) in the villages of Meursault and Chassagne, and Pinot Noir for the reds (5.80) in the villages of Volnay and Monthélie.

The land is amended with organic compost, weeded by ploughing, and plant protection is carried out wisely, with products approved for organic farming: the label could be applied for. However, it has not been applied for. The domain sticks to an ethic respecting the soil and the plant. The consecration is in the bottle of Comte Lafon.

Over the past decade, the wines of the estate have continued to improve. The whites have become fresher and more racy and the reds have gained in balance. The production of the domain is close to 80 000 bottles each year.
