“Tasted blind at the 2011 Bourgogne horizontal tasting in Beaune. Aromas of limestone and granite that filter nicely and gain in vigor. The palate is clean and fresh, detailed with fresh lemon zest and hints of white peach in the background. Beautifully balanced and harmonious right through to the end, this is a very assured Perrières. The potential of this wine is enormous.”
Meursault Perrières 1er Cru - Domaine des Comtes Lafon
Domaine des Comtes Lafon's Meursault Perrières 1er Cru is one of Burgundy's finest white wine ambassadors. From the prestigious “Perrières” climat, considered the noblest of Meursault's Premiers Crus, this wine embodies the elegance, depth and minerality typical of this exceptional terroir.
An exceptional terroir
The “Perrières” climat takes its name from the ancient stone quarries found in the region. This stony soil, composed mainly of limestone and fine clay, gives the wine a chiseled structure and vibrant minerality. Facing due east, it benefits from optimal sunshine, enabling the Chardonnay grapes to reach perfect ripeness while retaining great freshness.
