Premier grand cru - AOC Barsac

Château Coutet, owned by Philippe and Dominique Baly, is a wine estate located in Barsac. It extends over 38.5 hectares of vines. In the Barsac AOC, it is classified premier grand cru in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification. The production is 50,000 bottles per year.

There are two Coutet. The first, which is found in quantity because it is produced by one of the largest vineyards of the appellation. And a second, the cuvée Madame, produced in an average of 1,200 bottles. Only the latter is able to rival Château d'Yquem. For the most of Sauternes, Coutet is one of the rare estates in the commune of Barsac that can stand up to Climens. The property was purchased in 1977 by Marcel Baly. Irregular during the 80's, the quality of the production seems to have stabilized.

On Comptoir des Millésimes you can discover and buy the bottles of grand cru of Château Coutet.
