Château Dassault is a vineyard located in the Saint-Émilion appellation, a renowned wine-growing region of Bordeaux, France. The vineyard takes its name from the Dassault family, owners and operators of the property.
Château Dassault has a long history dating back to the 18th century. It was acquired by the Dassault family in 1955 and has remained in their hands ever since. Marcel Dassault, famous businessman and aviation pioneer, invested in the property and made significant improvements to both the vines and the production facilities.
The vineyard covers around 24 hectares of vines, mainly planted with classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines benefit from a unique terroir of clay-limestone soils and iron-rich subsoils, giving the wines a certain complexity and expression characteristic of the Saint-Émilion appellation.
Château Dassault mainly produces two distinct wines: Château Dassault Grand Cru Classé and Château La Fleur Dassault. Château Dassault Grand Cru Classé is the estate's flagship wine, renowned for its elegance, well-integrated tannic structure and ripe fruit aromas. Château La Fleur Dassault is a second wine, equally appreciated for its quality and finesse.
Château Dassault places great importance on careful vinification and oak barrel ageing, to preserve the authenticity of the terroir and produce wines of excellence. The estate's wines are often described as balanced, elegant and capable of ageing well.
