Cordon Bleu Extra Brut - Champagne de Venoge
Champagne Brut
92/100 Parker
Cellaring : Can be drunk now and can be kept for 5 years.
Tasting by Stephan Reinhardt : "Like the corresponding Brut, De Venoge's NV Cordon Bleu Extra-Brut is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Meunier from some 20 different villages. The wine has an intense citrus colour and opens with a surprisingly dense, fresh and complex bouquet with ripe white fruit, beautiful flavours of brioche, Turkish honey, almond and wet limestone. It is pure, fresh and intense on the palate, very elegant and fine but also quite rich and complex on the finish where there are flavours of lemon. I would love to have it with oysters and seafood."
The Cordon Bleu champagnes, dominated by Pinot Noir, express the roundness and a certain vinosity typical of this grape variety.
Tasting: Very lightly dosed, this cuvée has a very fresh attack, much appreciated by wine lovers. Notes of white flesh fruits, lemon and vine peach developing a surprising fatness. An excellent wine for aperitif and with seafood.

- Pinot Noir 50%.
- Pinot Meunier 25%.
