The "Pied de la Butte" cuvée from Domaine de la Butte:

It comes from a parcel of Bourgueil terroir, characterized by a soil composed of clay and limestone. The grapes come from 30-year-old vines, carefully harvested at perfect ripeness to fully express the characteristics of this exceptional terroir. This is the only wine in the range to be vinified entirely in stainless steel vats, as this terroir easily reveals its qualities when young, and is best enjoyed within 5 years of harvest.

Tasting: 

As far as tasting is concerned, the "Pied de la Butte" cuvée is a delicious Cabernet Franc, in Jacky Blot's characteristic style. It offers an abundance of fruit, both juicy and deep, a real pleasure for the palate. This wine is a perfect match for simple summer dishes, such as grilled meats. It is without doubt one of the best value wines in the Bourgueil appellation. On the nose, red fruit aromas mingle with subtle spicy notes, and a touch of licorice comes through after aeration. This first impression is very seductive and encourages tasting. On the palate, the wine is fresh and fruity, with well-balanced acidity. Complexity is not the goal here, but rather the quest for deliciousness. An ideal choice when outside temperatures are high.
