Terroir and character of the wine

This Chinon comes from the historic terroir of the AOC, offering a sunny expression rich in nuances, with a fine balance between fruit, spices, roundness and structure.

Tasting

The bouquet opens with aromas of stewed red fruit, followed by subtle notes of roasting.

On the palate, the power and concentration of over-ripe blackcurrants combine to create a harmonious balance. The finish reveals spices, notably white pepper, with present, persistent tannins that envelop the palate.

Grape variety: 100% Cabernet Franc

Terroir : Dense ‘Cornuelles’ clay

Harvesting methods : Working the soil is essential, and the grapes are harvested by hand from loose, aerated bunches.

Vatting time: 23 days

Ageing: 12 months in 400-litre barrels, followed by 8 months in stainless steel vats
