This is one of our partner estates, which means that their wines are shipped directly to our cellar following their bottling in their estate. The Domaine des Closiers is located in Parnay, in the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellation, in the Loire Valley. The "Closiers" were the winegrowers who worked in the vineyards and lived in the troglodyte dwellings at the foot of the hill. The estate covers 15 hectares on clay-limestone soil with vines of an average age of 35 years. The estate has been developed for 5 generations and is now managed by Anatole de La Brosse with Pierre Derouin as the head of the operation and Loïc Yven.
The vineyard obtained the High Environmental Value label (HVE 3) in 2017 thanks to the attention paid to the development of biodiversity. The estate has also begun its conversion to organic farming with the help of Michel Chevré, the estate's technical advisor and operator of Clos de l'Écotard.
