Château Ducru Beaucaillou 2002
Saint-Julien - 2nd Grand Cru Rated
Tasting of the 2002 Ducru-Beaucaillou by Robert Parker: "It's good to see this wine turning out much better in bottle than it did in barrel, where it had a certain leanness and herbaceousness. The elegant nose of red and black currants, cedar wood and spice box still reveals dried herbs. The wine has an intense ruby/purple colour, excellent density and medium body in an elegant style with a hint of tar and sweet fruit".
Maturity: This wine can be drunk now.
To be noted : This estate is now managed by Bruno Borie, the eldest son of the late Jean-Eugène Borie. He replaced his younger brother, Xavier Borie, who is still responsible for Grand-Puy-Lacoste and Haut-Batailley.
