Deep garnet in color, the 2009 Ducru-Beaucaillou explodes in the glass with notes of creme de cassis, black cherry compote and candied plums, followed by hints of menthol, hoisin, dusty earth and incense, as well as perfumed hints of candied violets and baker's chocolate. The palate is full-bodied, rich and spicy, and offers a nice plush texture and freshness, with a long, layered finish. Absolute power!
