FIND OUT MORE :
Acquired by the family in 1971, Le Clos du Roy is recognised as one of the appellation's most prestigious climats, constituting Mercurey's historic premier cru. With a south-south-west exposure, its compact, chalky-clay soil and cold, white marl have the advantage of warming up quickly, giving the wine a delicacy of tannins worthy of the great villages of the Côte de Nuits.
- Surface area: 2 hectares 54 ares (6.28 acres)
- Years planted: 1971, 1982
THE TASTING
On the nose, subtle aromas of black and red berries intertwine elegantly with woody and smoky notes. On the palate, these fruity flavours are delicious. The wine delicately envelops the palate with velvety tannins, creating a soft, warm and harmonious experience.
- Serve with: Epoisses beef fillet, lamb chops
- Temperature: 14°C to 16°C
- Cellaring potential: 7 to 10 years
