Presentation of the François Carillon estate

The Domaine François Carillon is a new incarnation of a long family tradition that goes back several generations: François bears the name of his great-grandfather, François Virot, pioneer and manager of Domaine Leflaive, which must rank among the greatest white wine producers of the 20th century. He began working with his father, Louis Carillon, on the 1988 vintage. François' style is richer and more gourmand than that of his brother Jacques, and he harvests later; in 2018, this will result in ripe, fleshy and textured wines which, according to Carillon, will be refined by a long aging on lees. Today, the estate covers more than 16 hectares, 90% of which is planted with Chardonnay, with the remainder divided equally between Pinot Noir and Aligoté. Recognized in Puligny-Montrachet for the elegance and precision of his wines, François Carillon mobilizes his energy to give his products ever more quality. Supported by a dynamic and close-knit team of a dozen people, he continues the development of the family business with as much enthusiasm as at the beginning and ensures the future of the vineyard by passing on his know-how and the love of his profession to his four children.
