Meursault 1er cru Poruzots 2023 - François Mikulski
Directly from the wine estate
- Meursault 1er Cru les Poruzots Dessus vineyard since 1992 on a half sharecropping basis (50% of the harvest for the owner, 50% of the harvest for the tenant).
- It has a surface area of 62 ares and faces east on the Meursault hillside. It is about 50 years old.
- The grape variety is 100% Chardonnay.
- It is cultivated under non-certified organic methods.
- Annual production: about 2400 bottles.
- The subsoil is composed of a brown layer of horizontal silt of about thirty centimetres, laid on a base of cracked rock. The silt has infiltrated the rock and allows for the storage of moisture as well as the deep development of the root system.
- Maturation: with few new barrels (20%) and the rest in one, two and three wine barrels to preserve the expression of the terroir.
- This vineyard produces an elegant, fine, dynamic wine, more "feminine" than the other 1st growths. A very nice minerality is always present, whatever the vintage. It is a wine to be drunk between 5 and 10 years of age.
