Georges Lignier & Fils - Burgundy

Founded by Georges at the beginning of the 20th century, the estate has remained a family estate. The family's goal was immediately to make the estate one of the largest in Morey St Denis. Before being in the hands of Georges, Georges' grandson, the estate was in the hands of Bernard Lignier, his son. It is a goal they have achieved since the estate is now 16 hectares in size. Of these 16 hectares, the estate operates 17 different appellations spread over 50 plots planted mainly with Pinot Noir.

After studying oenology, Georges' nephew Benoit Stehly joined the team in 2002. It was then a new era for the family estate. Planted on a clay-limestone soil, the vines are on average 50 years old. The Lignier family makes it a real point of honour to respect the vines and their terroir by adopting natural cultivation practices.

In tasting, the wines produced by the Domaine Lignier offer excellent length in the mouth, a perfect balance between red fruits and sweet spices. Rich and elegant, the wines of the estate are worth the journey.
