Cuvée Saint-Joseph Dame Brune from Domaine Christine & Georges Vernay is a magnificent expression of the Saint-Joseph appellation, renowned for its characterful Syrahs. This deep, intense red wine is made from 100% Syrah, the emblematic grape of the northern Rhône Valley. Produced from carefully selected plots, it reveals a dense body, underpinned by a fine tannic structure and superb aromatic complexity. This rare cuvée, produced in limited quantities, seduces lovers of great Rhône wines with its elegance and depth.
Tasting & Pairings
On opening, Saint-Joseph Dame Brune expresses all its power, with intense notes of black fruits, spices and a smoky touch characteristic of granite terroirs. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied, revealing aromas of blackberry, black pepper and a subtle licorice note, underpinned by freshness and remarkable length. For optimal tasting, we recommend decanting one to two hours before serving, and serving at 16-18°C. This grand Saint-Joseph goes perfectly with a fine piece of mature beef, duck breast or game in sauce. It has an ageing potential of 10-15 years, allowing the most patient to discover its full complexity after a few years in the cellar.
