Tortonian limestone marl hillside at the Chapel of Saint Cosme, at the place called "Le Poste". Ageing of twelve months:20% in new pieces-50% in pieces of one wine30% in pieces of two wines. If the Claux has my affection, Le Poste has my heart. This somewhat magical place has always been the place where my mother collects her thyme, rosemary, blackberries, figs, cherries and almonds. Elderberries and broom grow easily here and we even make honey with two hives: it will be the "honey of the post". Everything is intense and refined on this hillside. I sometimes dream of a "horizontal" tasting of this terroir, bringing together all the wonders it is capable of producing. But it will never be just a dream because all these fruits of nature do not ripen simultaneously! Le Poste also has my heart because my father replanted this hillside in 1963. He was 35 years old and the photos of this plantation site show an energetic man capable of toppling the mountains. That same year, he had to vinify what was unquestionably the worst vintage of the century. And his Gigondas was of acceptable quality (a tour de force in 1963), with the help of his best friend, the oenologist Jean-Paul Laval, who at the time had the only oenological laboratory in the region. I dedicate this magnificent Poste 2015 to my father: when you taste it, think of his work.
