Crozes Hermitage 2019 - Cuvée 1920 - Gilles Robin
From the estate
Cellaring: 2024 - 2036
Made from vines planted in 1956 and aged in new demi-muids, it offers seductive blackcurrant and blackberry scents on the nose, with added notes of cedar shavings, crushed stone and dried spices. Quite powerful, with firm but ripe tannins and a long, complex finish, this is a fine Crozes. More intense and structured than the Alberic, it deserves to be cellared for a few years and consumed over the next decade.
- Grape variety : Syrah 100%.
- The cuvée : coming from 60 years old vines, from the terroirs of the Domaine Robin, the blend plays on early ripening Syrah. Moreover the result of a parcel selection of the oldest vines, 1920 is always from a noble and great origin.
- Anecdote : Provided with the exceptional resources of a great terroir, this great Crozes-Hermitage wine is only made in high potential vintages. The 1920 vintage benefited from grapes of perfect maturity and excellent concentration. With a breeding of 18 months.
