Château du Glana is located on the Route des Grands Vins along the Gironde estuary, between the villages of Beychevelle and Saint-Julien, just across Château Ducru-Beaucaillou.
Château du Glana dates back to 1870. Before 1870, part of the vineyard was part of the Château St-Pierre. Gabriel Meffre bought the estate in 1961. At the time of purchase, the château du Glana was in a sad state of disrepair. So much that only three hectares of vines remained. Everything was in need of complete renovation, from the vines to the château through the cellars and all the winemaking facilities. The renovations were completed in 1968.
With the beginning of the 21st century, the Meffre family is committed to improving the quality and image of its Bordeaux wines. In 2003, the Château du Glana has once again undergone a complete renovation, bringing the estate up to modern-day standards. The Meffre family's challenge was proudly achieved, as the wine continues to evolve positively thanks to its many renovations.

The vineyard is managed using sustainable viticulture in order to respect the vines as much as possible and the harvest is manual. After thermo-regulated plot by plot vinification, the wine is matured for 12 months in 50% new barrels. The estate has been able to perfectly combine traditional and modern methods so that the wine has been in perpetual improvement for more than 10 years. Vintages such as 2008, 2006 and 2005 are elegant and seductive.
In order to best express its terroir, the estate also produces a second wine, "Pavillon du Glana".
The annual production of the Château du Glana is around 185,000 bottles per year, of which 115,000 Château du Glana.
