The Gosset Celebris Vintage 2012 is an exceptional champagne produced by the oldest wine house in Champagne, founded in 1584 in Aÿ. This independent family house has been perpetuating a unique know-how for several centuries.
The blend of this vintage is composed of 70% Chardonnay, which brings elegance and minerality, and 30% Pinot Noir, which gives fruitiness and structure. After being cellared in April 2013, the bottles rest for at least nine months after disgorging, thus allowing a harmonious integration of the dosage, set at 5.5 g/l. The grapes come from prestigious villages such as Ambonnay, Avize, Aÿ, Bouzy, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, among others.
The Gosset Celebris Vintage 2012 Brut is visually distinguished by a luminous golden color and fine, crystalline bubbles. On the nose, aromas of pear and citrus fruits dominate, with notes of sweet orange and grapefruit. As it warms, the wine reveals gourmet aromas of bourdaloue tart blending pear and almonds. On the palate, it offers a deep structure with an attack marked by citrus fruits and vanilla flowers, evolving towards flavors of gooseberry, raspberry and red cherry.
Ideal as an aperitif or during a meal, this champagne goes wonderfully with exotic dishes such as veal with pineapple, pork with prunes, or steamed fish. For dessert, it pairs perfectly with a fresh fruit salad or an apricot and basil tart.
This vintage, aged for at least 10 years in cellars, is only the 9th edition of Gosset Celebris in 35 years, reflecting the quintessence of the house style with exceptional fresh fruit, from high-quality harvests, such as those of 2012.
